Not just a Game

Just a few days ago I was watching the movie “The Sandlot”, and there was a quote that I’ve heard as many times as I’ve watched the movie (a lot) but for whatever reason this time I was really listening.

“You see for us baseball was a game. But for Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez, baseball was life”

It probably caught my ear because for Addison and I, baseball is LIFE. Sure we play 142 GAMES during a minor league baseball season, but the reason it’s life for us is because it does not stop at the ballpark. We live, eat, and breathe baseball. Very rarely do we do anything without baseball in mind, and that is just fine with us. We absolutely love our baseball centered life. We come home after the game and discuss every aspect, and sometimes if Addison isn’t happy with his swing he will even take practice swings in the living room because he just can’t wait to get back to the field the next day to work on things. Even in the off-season, all we are doing the entire time is preparing for baseball season to start. It doesn’t just stop after the game, after the season, and probably won’t even stop after he’s done playing for good. Once you live baseball, you’re never the same!

We even devoted half of our engagement session to pictures in a ballpark (actually at our alma mater, USF)!! We truly can’t get away :-)
